I am a mixed media artist who was born in the mountains of Switzerland, but grew up along the central coast of California. Growing up next to the ocean has had a huge influence on my artwork. In the last 50 years, human impact has greatly changed the state of our ocean. Many of us think of the ocean as an endless expanse, but the reality is that no part of it is free from anthropogenic ocean acidification. The difference between this and other environmental problems is that we have the knowledge needed to begin to solve this one. As time and tide wait for no man or woman, my hope is that we act now.
Through my mixed media works, I dive into the depths of the ocean to take a closer look at how the natural processes of our oceans are changing faster than ever before.
I live and work in the beautiful city of San Francisco and have a Bachelors Degree in Painting and Drawing from San Francisco State University. I co-founded and co-manage Maritime Art Collective and have been curating exhibitions for the past six years.
I donate 10% of all art sales to Mission Blue
“Mission Blue is an initiative of the Sylvia Earle Alliance to ignite public support for the protection of Hope Spots – special places that are vital to the health of the ocean – through the creation of a global network of marine protected areas to safeguard 20% of the ocean by 2020.”
